Students gain from sex ed
We were glad to see the Illinois Senate send Gov. Pat Quinn a bill requiring that school sex ed courses include information about birth control and sexually transmitted disease prevention. Quinn is expected to sign the bill.

The new concealed carry bill introduced in Illinois is not satisfactory at all. The appointed board would be made up of three Chicago anti-gun lobbyists or anti-gun politicians and three from outside of Cook County. The Illinois legislators are a disgrace to law-abiding gun-toting citizens.

I don't usually reply to Jim Walters' ravings, but since he mentioned my name, I guess I will. Yes, I changed my mind about writing to the paper. Intelligent people do that occasionally. But some people's minds are like concrete, all mixed up and permanently set.
