  • Leave the court out of the dispute

    The teachers union at Belleville East wants to have the air quality retested at the school, and that's great. The Illinois Department of Labor already gave the campus a clean bill of health. But if there's a health or safety problem, the students and staff need to know about it and the district needs to fix it.

    That Emil Jones, what a kidder. The Illinois Senate president recently announced, "I need a pay raise," even though he now makes $91,869 a year. Then last week as he passed by a Senate colleague, he told reporters he had to "get me some food stamps."
