Save the date; No need to head over to St. Louis if you're a fan of Smashbox or other high-end skin and cosmetic products. Ulta is coming to Fairview Heights. The "one-stop" beauty store opens next to Bed, Bath & Beyond officially July 24, with an unadvertised opening to the public July 13. Ulta offers many of the big makeup and skincare names, including less expensive Revlon and L'Oreal, plus salon hair products (Redken, ISO, etc.), a full-service hair and waxing salon, plus beauty tools, accessories and even a fitness area with mats, balls, socks and DVDs. Go to www.ulta.com for more info. ...

... Redoing a young Cardinals' fan's bedroom? Bed, Bath & Beyond in Fairview Heights has a comforter set with a pair of shams in bright red with the team's logo. It's $69.99 and will fit a twin bed as a bedspread; full size as a comforter. ...

... Need a coverup for your bathing suit? World Market in Shiloh has sarongs in a variety of animal prints for $12.99. Even comes with a coconut button that allows you to adjust the sarong to fit you. ...

... Don't be confused: Justice, the retail clothier for girls 7-14, now has a location inside St. Clair Square as well as one in The Shoppes at St. Clair next to Barnes & Noble. Plans are to keep it that way for now, with much the same merchandise in both stores. The one in the mall used to be a Limited Too store, which is owned by the same parent company that owns the Justice brand. ...

... Everywhere I turn I see women carry giant giraffe-print handbags that are either the real thing from Dooney & Bourke (about $400) or the sarafi knockoffs. Isell Style is a kiosk upstairs near the food court that sells the lookalike designer bags and other handbags for about $50. ...

... Already retailers assume you've got every fun thing you need for summer -- so they offer deals to move the stuff out of the store. Toys R Us has Funnoodles for the water at a great price: Buy two and get the third free. Priced from smallest to biggest, spend $1.99 to $7.99 each. ...
