ST. LOUIS -- Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals will catch the ceremonial first pitch from President Barack Obama at the 80th annual All-Star Game on Tuesday night at Busch Stadium.
Pujols, the starting first baseman for the National League, is making a run for his third Most Valuable Player award. After the first game of a day-night doubleheader Sunday in Chicago against the Cubs, Pujols was batting .337 with 32 home runs and 87 RBIs.
Obama will be greeted on the field by the Cardinals' six living Hall of Famers: Ozzie Smith, Stan Musial, Red Schoendienst, Lou Brock, Bruce Sutter and Bob Gibson.
Pujols will be appearing in his eighth All-Star Game.
