SAUGET -- The food at GCS Ballpark will be getting some national exposure this week.

"Man v. Food," a hit show on The Travel Channel hosted by actor and food enthusiast Adam Richman, will film a segment during the Gateway Grizzlies' game against the Midwest Sliders at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday.

Richman will eat "Baseball's Best Burger" and consume an order of "Baseball's Best Nachos" during the game.

The burger --which has been featured on ESPN's "Cold Pizza" and CBS News, and in stories in Sports Illustrated and other national publications and newspapers -- consists of a quarter-pound burger topped with cheddar cheese and two slices of bacon. The burger is wedged between each side of a Krispy Kreme doughnut.

The nachos, a new concession item this year, features a bed of tri-colored tortilla chips topped with philly beef steak, onions, peppers and smothered with Monterey Jack cheese sauce.

According to the show's website, "Man v. Food" debuted on The Travel Channel in December. Richman travels the country "in search of the best places to do some serious indulging" of America's "iconic dishes."

Steve Gomric, general manager of the Grizzlies, welcomes the exposure.

"The food at GCS Ballpark has been inspired by the likes of Luther Vandross, Tony Funderburg and Joey Chestnut, all great Americans," Gomric said. "I'm excited to have The Travel Channel come out to try these inspirations."

Gomric said he would love to have a huge crowd on hand for the cameras. He said any fan attending tonight's game who purchases one of "Baseball's Best" menu items from the Great Grizzlie Grill located down the third-base line will receive four free tickets to Wednesday's game.

The air date for the show has not been announced.
