A 55-year-old Wood River man received a 15-month prison sentence and was ordered to pay $3.64 million in restitution Thursday for tax evasion.

Rick Lee Jones also was fined $114,654. Jones received the sentence in federal court in East St. Louis.

Jones was the owner of Triad Industries, which spearheaded a multimillion-dollar cleanup of the shuttered Amoco Refinery complex in Wood River.

Jones also has been a developer. In 2005, a Madison County jury found Jones should receive $4.7 million as compensation for land taken from him by the state for an extension of Illinois 255.
