Ace Hart II, the son of St. Clair county deputy coroner, Democratic precinct committeeman Ace Hart, was arraigned on federal conspiracy and drug charges Friday.
Hart, 30, of Caseyville, is one of five co-defendants who were indicted by a federal grand jury in a surpressed indictment.
Hart faces charges of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine, and three counts of distribution of cocaine.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Donald Wilkerson accepted Hart's not guilty plea in a hearing on Friday afternoon. He later released Hart on a $10,000 unsecured bond after the government did not request detention.
Hart's trial is set for Nov. 2 before U.S. District Judge Michael J. Reagan.
