SHILOH -- Two drivers were treated for minor injuries after a collision Wednesday morning at busy Shiloh intersection.
Jonathan Sedivy, 29, 410 N. 13th St. in Breese, will be charged with failure to yield after his Nissan Cube struck another vehicle about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Green Mount Road and Frank Scott Parkway, said Shiloh Assistant Police Chief Gary McGill.
The power was out in the area so the traffic signals were flashing, police said.
"Traffic was stop and go," McGill said.
Sedivy, who was driving north on Green Mount, struck a 2005 Ford Escape traveling east on Frank Scott Parkway driven by June Wilkin, 58, of Pickneyville.
The Escape flipped over, trapping Wilkin inside. Emergency crews cut open the roof of the vehicle to extract the driver.
Sedivy and Wilkin were each transported to Memorial Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
It took emergency crews about an hour to clean up the wreckage from the collision.
Ameren spokeswoman Victoria Busch said the power outage was caused by a contractor mishap at the East Belleville substation. The power was restored within 30 minutes of the outage, she said.
