SWANSEA -- Police are looking for a man who robbed a Walgreens store of what police said was more than 50 pills of a pain medication.
According to police, the incident happened like this: A white male, who police think is 5-feet-11-inches and in his early 20s, walked into the Walgreens at 2532 N. Illinois St. about 10:30 a.m. Thursday. He went to the pharmacy counter at the back of the store, gave an employee a note requesting medication, then left the store after receiving the medication, which police wouldn't name specifically. No one was injured, and most didn't even know he was in the store.
Deputy Swansea Police Chief Craig Coughlin said the man implied in the note that he had a weapon, though employees never saw one. Coughlin wouldn't say what type of weapon the man said he had.
