The highlights include:

FUNDING

Total: $12.84 billion

Federal: $7.292 billion

State: $4.888 billion, including $2.63 billion from the "Illinois Jobs Now!" capital program and an earlier construction plan lawmakers adopted.

Local: $660 million ___

CONSTRUCTION

Road maintenance:

• $4.341 billion for reconstruction, resurfacing and widening, and safety projects

• $1.06 billion for interstate highway improvements and $448 million for safety

Bridge maintenance:

• $2.24 billion for bridges

Congestion relief:

• $2.517 billion for traffic congestion, including $409 million for a new Mississippi River bridge near East St. Louis.

Expansion

• $1.005 billion for new roads to increase access and for economic development. ___

RESULT

• 4,739 miles of highways improved

• 763 bridges replaced or rehabilitated
