We want to tell your stories of 'The Forgotten War'

July 22, 2010

From the Yalu River to the Chosin Reservoir, metro-east residents fought in a war that was never officially declared a war by Congress. It was called “The Forgotten War,” but the News-Democrat is asking local Korean War veterans to remember. Here, we will share vets’ images and words, as we did in 2008 with the Our War series. You can still go online to bnd.com/ourwar to see the stories, pictures and videos of 67 metro-east veterans of World War II. To participate in Our War: Korea, contact the News-Democrat via e-mail at ourwar@bnd.com or call us at (618) 239-2510.

Belleville News-Democrat is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
