Coats for Kids warms up 60 kids in Belleville

NEWS-DEMOCRATDecember 9, 2010

About 60 students from Belleville area schools were dressed warmly in new winter coats Thursday thanks to the Westside Belleville Optimists Club and its 13th annual Coats for Kids program.

The Optimists sell entertainment books, serve pancake breakfasts and hold other fundraisers throughout the year to raise money for the purchases of winter coats for students who otherwise wouldn't be able to buy a new coat.

If you would like to make a donation or join the Optimists, call chairwoman Debbie Rockwell at 210-2964.
