— The scheduled game between the Washington Nationals and St. Louis Cardinals was rained out Tuesday night at Busch Stadium.

The game will be made up Wednesday as part of a day-night doubleheader. The first game will start at 1:15 p.m., followed by the second game at 7:15. Gates to the stadium will open at 12:15 p.m. for the 1:15 game and at 5:15 for the 7:15 game.

Jake Westbrook will pitch for the Cardinals against John Lannan in the first game. Jaime Garcia will oppose Washington's Jordan Zimmermann in the second game.

Both games will be televised on Fox Sports Midwest.

The game Tuesday never began as strong storms passed through St. Louis and the metro-east. After a delay of 2 hours, 21 minutes, it was postponed.

It was the sixth rainout in the six-year history of Busch Stadium III and the first since May 15, 2009, against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Fans with tickets to the game Tuesday can use them for the 1:15 p.m. game Wednesday.

Also, fans with tickets to the game Tuesday will be mailed a voucher for a complimentary admission to another Monday through Thursday game this season. Fans who purchased tickets at Busch Stadium ticket windows or Cardinals Clubhouse stores will need to present their tickets at Busch Stadium ticket windows to receive the voucher.
