Nationals-Cardinals first-game lineups

— There is just one change in the St. Louis Cardinals' lineup for the first game of the doubleheader at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday against the Washington Nationals.

Catcher Gerald Laird, who was not in the lineup for the game that was rained out Tuesday night, will start and bat seventh.

The Nationals' first-game lineup has three changes, as Laynce Nix will play left field instead of Michael Morse, Ivan Rodriguez will catch instead of Wilson Ramos and Alex Cora will play third base instead of Jerry Hairston.

Conditions were chilly (48 degrees) at Busch Stadium as the teams began their respecitve pregame drills, but there is no rain in the forecast. The forecast high is 60 degrees.
