My love of the written word and a curiosity about everything I encounter led me to a high school journalism class that changed my life. In college, I was editor of the campus newspaper and, years later, returned to newspaper work at a sister paper of the News Democrat. After becoming an empty-nester several years ago, I left the 9-5 work world for a new challenge: getting healthy and fit. Today I enjoy the best of all worlds -- wonderful health, plenty of new challenges, time with my husband and our two adult daughters, and the opportunity to continue doing the writing I so enjoy.
