Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois

The Violence Prevention Center provides shelter for battered women and children and domestic violence counseling. Someone at the center always is available to provide support, information and resources to those affected by domestic violence. The center offers a 24-hour crisis hotline, emergency shelter, individual and group counseling for adults and children, court and police advocacy, and prevention and education in the community, in addition the Violence Prevention Center runs a resale shop called teh Shelter Shop. All proceeds from sales are donated to VPC.

How to help

The Center's wish list includes: household items like bleach, paper towels, diapers, plastic hangers and hair styling tools, pantry items including perisable and nonperishable foods, office supplies like copy paper, sticky notes and highlighters, and donations of clothing for children and adults, toys and gift cards to Wal-Mart, Target, grocery stores and gas stations. Purchase or donate items at The Shelter Shop, 19 Bellevue Park Plaza in Belleville.
