A man's body was found in a home that burned early Friday, police say.

The body of Alfredo Coates was discovered inside the burned-out home at 6009 Forest Blvd. after firefighters put out the blaze, Police Chief David Clark said.

The fire call came into the Washington Park Fire Department at 6 a.m. Fire crews arrived to find the home fully engulfed, Clark said.

The State Fire Marshal's office was called to investigate.

Clark said investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire, and if Coates died as a result of it.
