Skip Schumaker apparently headed back to the DL

Cardinals outfielder and second baseman Skip Schumaker is apparently headed to the disabled list.

He pulled his hamstring while chasing a ball in right field Wednesday night against Atlanta.

Schumaker said he was very disappointed to be making his second trip to the disabled list so far this season.

"I have never seen anything like it," Schumaker said after the game of the Cardinals' rash of injuries. "I was hoping I wouldn't be part of it again. I have never seen so many guys out at one time. We have a very good team on the DL right now."

The Redbirds expect to get outfielder and first baseman Allen Craig back from the disabled list on Friday. But centerfielder Jon Jay is reportedly still suffering shoulder problems and probably won't be ready to rejoin the Cardinals along with Craig.
