Here are some highlights from the latest Belleville Police blotter:
TUESDAY
9:18 a.m. Assault --First block of Kingery Court. A Charter Cable employee/victim, a 38-year-old male, reported a resident, Leroy Henderson, 57, allegedly assaulted him after the victim turned off the cable connection at Henderson's apartment. Henderson was arrested, transported to headquarters, booked and later taken to the St. Clair County Jail per judge's orders.
1:14 p.m. Drunkenness -- Sixth and W. Main streets. Numerous complaints were received from residents regarding people hanging out at the bus stop on West Main and Sixth streets and requesting officers to make periodic checks. A subject, Gary Johnson, 55, was located at the bus stop and found to be intoxicated. Johnson was arrested, transported to headquarters and held pending sobriety.
7:58 p.m. Disorderly conduct -- Popeye's Chicken, 4601 W. Main St. The manager/victim, a 33-year-old female, reported Aaron Rose, 44, was inside the business and was intoxicated and using obscene language. Rose had been asked to leave but refused to comply. The manager signed an nontraffic citation against Rose for disorderly conduct. Rose was arrested, transported to headquarters and held pending sobriety.
WEDNESDAY
2:31 a.m. Burglary -- First block of Logan. The female victim, 31, heard the house alarm sound and woke her husband/victim #2, 35. Victim #2 grabbed his Mossberg shotgun and walked outside on his rear porch where he observed a male suspect exit his shed. Victim #2 ordered the suspect to stop but the suspect took off running behind the shed. Victim #2 fired a shot into the ground and a second male suspect exited the shed and took off running. Property from the shed was located in the back yard.
