LENZBURG — The Dance of Life Dancer is once again in trouble with the law.
Susan L. Stone, also known as David Stone, was charged Friday with criminal damage to state-supported property.
Stone is accused of destroying the village water meter outside of his mobile home on East Pinckneyville Street in order to steal water from the village, likely over several days somewhere between June 9 and 27, according to Police Chief Skip Mize.
Stone, who is 50 years old, calls himself the Dance of Life Dancer and for years was a fixture at St. Louis metro area festivals, where he wore tutus, ribbons and other flowing clothing and performed expressive dances.
Stone was released on parole in April from the Shawnee Correctional Center near Vienna after being convicted of property damage for slashing dozens of tires in Belleville in 2010.
Stone also has convictions in St. Clair County for retail theft, telephone harassment and disorderly conduct.
On Friday afternoon, he was in custody on $75,000 bail at the St. Clair County Jail.
