Belleville Police arrest homeless man accused in Swansea sexual assault of girl

A homeless man wanted in connection with the sexual assault of a girl under 10 in Swansea was arrested late Tuesday night by Belleville Police officers.

Cedric Pollard, 50, was charged with predatory sexual assault on Tuesday afternoon in connection with the assault, police said.

The reported assault occurred Sunday evening inside a home in the 1700 block of Barbary Way in Swansea. Pollard, who is homeless, had been allowed into the home.

Police officers had been searching for Pollard since Sunday night after the assault was reported. Pollard's bail was set at $200,000.

Details about his arrest were not immediately available.
