St. Louis Blues General Manager Doug Armstrong has not ruled out more additions. Two veteran forwards that could be available are Phoenix captain Shane Doan and Dallas' Brenden Morrow.
"We're always looking to see if we can improve our team, but as I said last week I think we're pretty comfortable that our forward group is solid," Armstrong said.
That doesn't mean Armstrong has given up his quest to add more veteran help on defense outside of the recent signing of former Blues prospect Jeff Woywitka.
Right now former first-round pick Ian Cole has a solid opportunity to earn top-six playing time.
"The free-agent market may have dwindled to the point where we'll focus on seeing if there's some availability via trade," he said. "We're comfortable with the six guys that we have, we do have depth.
"There's still an area where if we can improve our defense, we'll look at doing it. But if it doesn't happen over the next week or two or even the next month, I'm not concerned. I like the players that we have and it's an interesting dynamic."
