ST. LOUIS — St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher will host the St. Louis region's inaugural "Jeff Fisher & Friends" Celebrity Softball Game.
The game will be played July 26, a Thursday, at GCS Ballpark in Sauget. GCS Ballpark is the home of the Gateway Grizzlies.
The event, which will include a little league game, home run derby, celebrity softball game and post-game fireworks show, will benefit five charities: The BackStoppers, The Snow Foundation, Mercy Ministries, Wounded Warriors Project and Catch-A-Dream Foundation.
Before coming to St. Louis, Fisher hosted an annual softball game in Nashville to benefit charity and engage fans. It is important to Fisher that he continues the tradition in St. Louis.
"In my short time in St. Louis, I have been impressed with the charitable spirit of the folks that I have had the opportunity to meet," said Fisher. "I have always believed in the power of sports to raise awareness and funds for charities and as head coach of the Rams, that commitment will continue. The softball game will be a fun night at the ballpark for families and a great way to kickoff training camp. I think the fans will enjoy seeing their favorite Rams in a different environment."
Celebrities currently confirmed include Danny Amendola, Dre' Bly, Tom Brandstater, Jo-Lonn Dunbar, Cortland Finnegan, Bradley Fletcher, Brandon Gibson, Torry Holt, James Laurinaitis, Murphy Lee, Jake, McQuaide, Quintin Mikell, Brit Miller, Quinn Ojinnaka, Austin Pettis, Robert Quinn, Rodger Saffold and Darian Stewart. In addition to the participating celebrities, the Rams cheerleaders and team mascot Rampage will be available for autographs and photos.
