Metro-east counties receive money to help the poor

Two metro-east counties received about $255,000 combined in federal funds to help the homeless and the hungry.

The funds were distributed as part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's the Emergency Food and Shelter Program.

Madison and St. Clair counties received $125,795 and $129,486, respectively.
