— Four Collinsville Unit 10 school district students and two others were injured in a car crash early Tuesday.

Two cars collided about 11:45 a.m. on South Morrison, according to Lt. Eric Zaber of the Collinsville Police Department.

The Unit 10 school district confirmed that one car carried three high school students, while the other car included an elementary student, his mother and a family friend.

No names were released by the school district or the police. Zaber said he did not have any details on the accident's cause, or whether any charges would be filed.

The elementary student was treated and released at an area hospital. The high school students were transported to St. Louis hospitals, and are listed in serious but stable condition, according to the school district.
