BELLEVILLE POLICE

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 29

11:06 a.m. Theft -- First block of North 37th Street. The project manager reported between Aug. 25 and Tuesday, three pallets of roofing materials delivered by ABC Roofing for Allen Roofing and Siding were missing from the rear yard.

12:01 p.m. Theft -- First block of North Ninth Street. The victim reported between Aug. 6 and Tuesday, someone stole the air conditioning unit from the side of her vacant duplex.

9:01 p.m. Aggravated battery, mob action -- 200 block of Freedom Drive. Officers responded to a report of a large disturbance where they discovered the victim lying on the floor of a common area in the apartment complex with multiple stab wounds in his back. Further investigation identified a suspect, who fled the scene prior to police arrival. The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment. At 1:56 a.m., the suspect was apprehended during a traffic stop. Two other subjects involved with the incident were also apprehended. All three subjects were transported and held pending further investigation.

THURSDAY, AUG. 30

2:42 p.m. Disorderly conduct -- 2100 block of West Main Street. Shaun Brissette, 19, and Michael Chrysler, 18, were arrested after officers responded to a disturbance at their apartment complex and discovered they had been involved in a physical altercation. Both subjects were released with a notice to appear.

Steven J. Blankenship, 32, of 400 W. Fifth St., Cahokia, arrested on suspicion of participation in methamphetamine manufacturing, unlawful possession of methamphetamine manufacturing materials, unlawful possession of methamphetamine on Monday by St. Clair County sheriff. Blankenship allegedly participated in the manufacture of 900 grams or more of methamphetamine or a substance containing methamphetamine; had in his possession methamphetamine manufacturing material, being murlatic acid, Coleman fuel and lye, with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine; had in his possession 900 grams or more of a substance containing methamphetamine.

Ashli R. Crabtree, 25, of 400 W. James L. Thomas, 31, of 902 St. Matthew Drive, Cahokia, arrested on suspicion of participation in methamphetamine manufacturing on Monday by St. Clair County sheriff. Thomas allegedly participated in the manufacture of 900 grams or more of methamphetamine or a substance containing methamphetamine.

Shaun J. Schmiebach, 31, of 3218 Frank Scott Parkway West, Belleville, arrested on suspicion of theft, subsequent offense on Aug. 24 by St. Clair County sheriff. Schmiebach allegedly took property from John G. Schmierbach Sr., being U.S. currency, total value not in excess of $500. Defendant had been previously convicted of theft on May 3, 2006.

Thomas J. Fleeman, 31, of 1621 N. First St., St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of residential burglary on Aug. 28 by Swansea police. Fleeman allegedly entered into the dwelling place of Thomas Worley, 1936 Llewellyn Road, Swansea, with the intent to commit theft therein.

Robert J. Ballett, 31, of 3300 Falling Spring Road, Cahokia, arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving on suspended license on Aug. 29 by St. Clair County sheriff. Ballett allegedly drove a red 2004 GMC Sierra truck on Vector Drive in Sauget, while under the influence of alcohol and during a period in which the defendant's driving privileges were suspended.
