Enyart visits Marion

Published: September 4, 2012

Bill Enyart, the Democratic nominee for the 12th U.S. House District seat, visited with patrons of Pulley and Sons Barbecue, in Marion last Thursday, then spent Monday at Labor Day events in Belleville and Granite City.

Enyart has earned the support of the Illinois AFL-CIO, as well as unions representing firefighters, Teamsters, laborers, carpenters, Southwest Illinois Building Trades Council, and United Association of Plumbers, Fitters, Welders, and HVAC Service Techs, according to a release from his campaign.

Enyart, 62, a Belleville lawyer and former Illinois National Guard commander, is running against businessman Jason Plummer, 30, of O'Fallon, the GOP nominee; and Green Party nominee Paula Bradshaw, 59, of Carbondale, for the seat held by U.S. Rep. Jerry Costello, D-Belleville, who is retiring in January after 24 years.
