An anti-heroin rally is scheduled for Sept. 15 at the Gateway Arch in downtown St. Louis.
The event will be held at 6 p.m. on the Arch's grand staircase and in conjunction with similar rallies across the country.
The rally is being held to bring awareness of the nation's heroin and opiate problem and to pay respects to overdose victims.
Scheduled speakers include: Madison County State's Attorney Tom Gibbons, Wentzville Mayor Nick Guccione, Lincoln County State's Attorney Leah Wommack-Askey, clinical social worker Jon Gergeceff, former Cook County prosecutor and recovering drug addict Chad Sabora and Marilyn Smashey, the St. Louis-area mother of an 18-year-old overdose victim.
