Each year some of the top volleyball teams in the regon make the trek to Effingham, land of the interstate intersections, hotels and restaurants, for one of the top volleyball tournamaents in the state. It's called the BSN Sports Crossroads Classic and a year ago Edwardsville left with the championship.

Althoff and Central will join the Edwardsville Tigers there this weekend along with perennial state power Wheaton St. Francis and other top teams from Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Kentucky and Kansas. Check back at www.bnd.com and in the sports section for updated tourney scores.
