Previous offices: Madison County clerk

Qualifications: Throughout my 15 years in office, I have set the standard for excellence in public service. From safeguarding the integrity of our elections and expanding early voting access to holding fellow officeholders accountable and waiving my own pension payments, you can count on me to do right by the people of Madison County.

Top issues: Fiscal responsibility. Businesses have an obligation to their stakeholders to maximize efficiency and reduce costs without compromising value. I believe government offices are no exception. Organizations succeed when they strive to take care of customers in the most cost-effective way possible. I will sustain the Circuit Clerk's budget without using property taxes, with all personnel and operating costs paid with revenues from the Circuit Court. Modernize and streamline operations. As County Clerk, I established my reputation as an innovator who uses modern technology to increase efficiency and safeguard the integrity of Madison County's elections. As Circuit Clerk, I will streamline office functions utilizing innovative technologies and eliminate redundancy through automation. For example, I will simplify the processing of traffic tickets by eliminating the redundant task of importing data back and forth between written and digital formats. Putting the customer back in customer service. Under my leadership, the County Clerk's office has developed an unparalleled tradition of customer service. Local citizens and voters have grown to depend on the friendly, efficient service they receive at every encounter with my office. I will carry on this tradition as the Circuit Clerk by creating a positive, streamlined environment where staff can focus on their No. 1 priority: providing taxpayers with quality customer service as they navigate the judicial system.
