Qualifications: As a practicing attorney for more than 16 years, I have the practical knowledge required to understand the unique role the circuit clerk’s office plays in the day-to-day operation of the Madison County Courthouse. My experience as a business owner for nearly all of the past 16 years also gives me insight that a career politician would not possess and which will aid me in lowering operating costs of the circuit clerk’s office while maintaining and improving customer service. I am not comfortable spending taxpayer money freely for the sole purpose of using the entire allotted budget. I intend to examine the office budget and streamline it in an effort to help reduce the taxpayers’ burden in Madison County. I have the integrity and courage to stand up to corruption from members of all parties. The clerk must stand up against corrupt practices. Failing to do so led to the current federal investigation into corruption in Madison County.

Top issues: The top issue in this, and every county-wide race, should be to rebuild and improve Madison County’s reputation and image by electing individuals who have the integrity and character to fulfill their public duties without being influenced by any political party. Another issue is streamlining the budget in the circuit clerk’s office in an effort to reduce the tax burden to all Madison County taxpayers. This can be done without reducing services to the public. I also intend to improve overall customer service and to update electronic filing capabilities for attorneys and online access to records for the public in general. By doing so it will help lower costs to those involved in litigation and help to save on natural resources.
