Qualifications: As a concerned taxpayer, I have watched property values go down while our taxes continue to rise. I have watched as career politicians waste our money on raises for themselves and frivolous government spending. I am qualified for this office because I know that by lowering our county budget and cutting wasteful spending, we can lower the property taxes and give relief to those who are struggling. I am a hard worker, working outside the home and also working to care for my children. My husband and I own a small business and we understand how to manage a budget and control costs. When I set my mind to a task, I work hard to see it through. As a county board member, I will be a voice for all of the concerned taxpaying citizens and will work hard for the people, not the career politicians.

Top issues: Our property taxes are much too high in Madison County. By tapping in to the tens of millions we have in reserves, we can give the citizens of this county some much needed relief. I will vote to lower the property taxes and help to reform the system. I believe that cutting wasteful spending starts with the salaries and benefits of the politicians in office. I will not vote for a salary increase for county board members, and I will not accept benefits or a pension paid for with your tax dollars. I believe that as a county board member, one should make the sacrifice to serve the people with honesty and transparency.
