Top issues: Southwest Illinois flood prevention protecting our levees and approximately 55,000 jobs in the chemical, steel and refining industry as well as 155,000 people. By doing this, we are creating short-term construction and long-term economic growth in areas such as the Gateway Commerce Center on the I-255 corridor. This will also give the people in the flood plain area an opportunity to purchase affordable insurance. Maintaining a balanced budget with a low tax rate without jeopardizing services to Madison County residents. Attract new business to Madison County while continuing to work with fellow board members to make the county a safe and desirable place to live. Working with the County Board chairman and other board members to secure state and federal grants for local projects.
