Qualifications: I am a common sense fiscal conservative who thinks our elected officials should spend the taxpayers' money in the most cost effective, efficient manner, much like I have always done with my own family's household expenses. I would carry that philosophy over to the county board.

Top issues: Taxes, spending and integrity. I think we need a new mindset at the county level. Our tax levy has continued to increase regardless of the fact that our home values have been on the decline. We need to cut spending and reduce the tax levy, which will in turn reduce our property taxes. We need to focus on economic development to bring in more tax revenue, not higher taxes on home owners. I also believe that the board members' pay and benefits are excessive. I will refuse a taxpayer-funded pension and would vote to reduce the county board members' pay. In addition, I would like to see an end to the nepotism that exists and instead see more transparency as it pertains to family members of elected officials that are on the payroll and campaign contributions from companies that do business with the county.
