Qualifications: I have worked in the accounting field for nearly 10 years. I believe St. Clair County needs an auditor who is not afraid to root out instances of abuse of government dollars. The taxpayers deserve an auditor who is objective and not beholden to machine politics. Additionally, I will begin courses to be a Certified Fraud Examiner.
Top issues: Transparency in government. An auditor's office accountable to the citizen's, forthcoming in making the taxpayers aware of how the auditor's office is trying to provide citizens with better services at less cost. Establish an audit hotline for citizens and employees to report suspected instances of waste, fraud, and abuse. Better develop the county website so that citizens may access information in a usable format. I want to improve St. Clair County transparency in government. Currently St. Clair County has a failing score with the Illinois Policy Institute on its transparency rating. This must be improved.
