Education: Some college
Previous offices: Belleville Special Education board; Central School Board; Ward 5 alderman in O'Fallon
Qualifications: I have been in elected public service for more than 20 years, first with the Belleville Special Education school board, then Central School District 104 and later as a City of O'Fallon alderman for Ward 5. I have always enjoyed helping the residents of Central School District and the City of O'Fallon and would like to provide the same level of assistance to the residents of county board District 23.
Top issues: My No. 1 priority has always been the children and what is best for their future. They must have a good, solid education to succeed, and they also need a stable community and jobs when they are adults. Unemployment is a major problem that must be addressed in our county, and as a board member, I hope to help St. Clair County become a better place for businesses to locate and thrive. We need to try and increase our revenue from sources other than property tax, and to make sure the metro-east is fairly represented in regional projects such as the new river bridge, MetroLink and our expanding aerospace environment. As Scott Air Force Base is part of my district, I will do all within my power to see it stays open and flourishes.
