Education: Belleville West, 1977
Previous offices: Member Millstadt Village Board, 1999 to 2006
Qualifications: Previous experience with the Millstadt Village Board for eight years has helped me transition into this position after being elected as a county board member in District 22 in 2010. As a Millstadt board member I have dealt with similar issues and challenges such as setting your tax levies and getting infrastructure projects though, such as expansion of the village's sewer plant and water lines. I feel that experience helps qualifies me for this elected office.
Top issues: MidAmerica Airport. I think in order to get a better grasp on the situation the board and other professionals need to be appointed with a subset of the Public Building Commission to form a separate committee to run the airport so there would be more oversight on the unneeded spending of taxpayer money to infinitely fund MidAmerica. I am in favor of getting more industry such as Boeing and general aviation to generate jobs. North Bay is nice and I hope passenger service survives, but let's get some solid private funding for this airport to work. The county also needs to continue the good work on holding down tax levies and keeping budgets in line while dealing with a bad economy and a broke State of Illinois.
