The body found earlier this week in Cahokia was identified as a 23-year-old Collinsville man with a history of drug abuse.
Family members reported Jordan McIntyre missing Wednesday.
By the following day his fingerprints were used to identify the body that washed up on Cargill Road Tuesday afternoon, according to East St. Louis Police Chief Michael Floore.
Police were not sure how McIntyre's body ended up in the river, but family members told police that the man had a issues with drugs.
Early reports said a witness saw a woman walking on the Eads Bridge, and then heard a splash and the woman had disappeared.
Identification on the body led police to a St. Louis woman, who claimed that her possessions had been stolen.
