A Randolph County resident was sentenced Friday to conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.
Sparta resident Bonnie L. Wahl, who is also known as Bonnie Biesterfeld, 45, was sentenced to 60 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release and was fined $300. The conspiracy offense occurred between December 2009 and May 2011 in Jackson and Randolph Counties.
At her plea hearing, Wahl admitted that she provided pseudoephedrine pills to others for the manufacture of methamphetamine.
At sentencing, the U.S. District Court found that Wahl was responsible for the manufacture or distribution of more than 500 grams of methamphetamine.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Randolph County Sheriff's Office, Chester Police Department, Murphysboro Police Department, Illinois State Police and Drug Enforcement Administration.
The case was assigned to Assistant U.S. Attorney Amanda A. Robertson for prosecution.
