BELLEVILLE POLICE

FRIDAY, SEPT. 14

10:55 a.m. Retail theft -- Dollar General, 1B Bellevue Park Plaza. Employees reported observing three males concealing merchandise and leaving the store without paying for it. One suspect was located, arrested, transported, and later released to a parent. The other two suspects were not located.

12:45 p.m. Pedestrian check, possession of cannabis -- First block of North 78th Street. Derrick E. Berry, 19, was arrested after officers found cannabis in his possession. Berry was transported and released after posting bond.

1:38 p.m. Residential burglary -- 1400 block of North 17th Street. The victim reported between 9:40 a.m. and 1:20 p.m., unknown person(s) gained entry to his residence by unknown means and property was stolen.

6:12 p.m. Burglary to vehicle -- 300 block of Gettysburg. The victim reported between 2 p.m. and 4:41 p.m., unknown person(s) entered her unlocked vehicle and property was stolen.

6:12 p.m. Burglary to vehicle -- 300 block of Gettysburg. The victim reported between 4:19 p.m. and 5 p.m., unknown person(s) entered his unlocked vehicle and property was stolen.

8:47 p.m. Arrest -- First block of Ben Louis. Delandous Griffin, 23, was arrested and transported to headquarters for two outstanding nontraffic citations for Obstructing, Occupancy Violation. He was held pending bond.

9:51 p.m. Disturbance -- 200 block of Lebanon Avenue. Officers responded to a report of a subject possibly with a gun in the 200 block of Lebanon Avenue. Three juveniles reported they were walking home and being loud, when the resident allegedly came off his porch and began to yell and cuss at them. The juveniles reported he had something in his hand that looked like a gun but no threats were made. The resident denied displaying a handgun. The residence was checked, two BB guns were located.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 15

12:15 a.m. Traffic stop, driving under the influence -- First block of North High Street. Derek A. Stoll, 30, was arrested during a traffic stop after appearing to be intoxicated and failing field sobriety tests. Stoll was transported and held pending bond.

2:24 a.m. Burglary to vehicle -- 1100 block of Lilac Drive. The victim reported sometime overnight, unknown person(s) entered his unlocked Chevrolet Silverado and property was stolen.

2:34 p.m. Criminal trespass, aggravated assault, resisting a peace officer -- BTHS East, 2555 West Boulevard. The School Resource Officer was working the football game at the high school when he observed a former student he knew was not allowed on any District 201 property. The SRO attempted to arrest the suspect when the suspect displayed a knife then turned and fled the area. Officers pursued him but lost sight of him.

3:17 p.m. Criminal damage to property -- 500 block of Sherman. A neighbor reported a window on the vacant property was damaged again sometime in the past two weeks.

7:14 p.m. Disorderly conduct, fighting -- 4600 block of West Main Street. Alexis Lewis, 19 and a juvenile, were arrested after they were located fighting in the roadway. Both subjects were transported to headquarters. Lewis was released with a notice to appear. The juvenile was released to a parent.

8:26 p.m. Attempted burglary -- Home Depot, 5501 Belleville Crossing. An employee reported a lock was tampered with in an attempt to gain entry into a shed. No entry was made.

10:40 p.m. Traffic accident, driving under the influence -- Illinois 15 and Maple Hill Road. Joshua M. Litteken, 25, was arrested after he struck the guard rail in the 1600 block of Illinois 15. Litteken appeared to be intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests. Litteken was transported and released after posting bond.

11:23 p.m. Theft -- 1200 block of West Main Street. The victim reported his roommate/suspect allegedly took U.S. currency and his Visa from his wallet without his permission.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 16

3:30 a.m. Battery -- 600 block of Vicksburg Avenue. The suspect began to punch the victim in the face as she was holding her 2-year-old son. The victim received minor lacerations to her arms, neck and face. The suspect was gone on arrival. The victim signed a non traffic citation for battery.

12:35 p.m. Criminal damage to property -- 1900 block of West F Street. The victim reported her friend/suspect damaged the rear window of her vehicle.

12:37 p.m. Criminal damage to property -- 200 block of North Eighth Street. The victim reported between 5 p.m. and 12:37 a.m., unknown person(s) damaged he lawn ornaments.

7:33 p.m. Drunkenness -- 300 block of North 11th Street. Carla O'Neal, 40, was arrested after being found intoxicated and creating a disturbance. O'Neal was transported and held pending sobriety.

8:54 p.m. Burglary -- Retro Games, 1121 E. Main St. A witness reported observing two subjects kick in the door to the business. The owner responded and reported U.S. currency was removed from the cash register. The suspects were gone on arrival.

monday, sept. 17

1:20 a.m. Domestic battery -- 600 block of Royal Heights Road. The victim reported her husband/suspect battered her during a disturbance by shoving her. The suspect was arrested, transported and held pending further investigation.

1:52 a.m. Suspicious fire -- 7000 block of West Main Street. An anonymous caller reported smoke in the area of 70th Street and West Main. Officers responded and located a garage on fire. The Belleville Fire Department arrived and extinguished the fire. Fire Department personnel advised the fire appeared to be of a suspicious nature.
