Want to get rid of old medicine? Do it Saturday in Edwardsville.

Published: September 28, 2012

Metro-east residents who want to clean out their medicine cabinet can do so Saturday in Edwardsville.

A drop off for unused or expired medications -- be it prescription drugs or over the counter medicine -- will be held Saturday on the parking lot behind the Madison County Administration at 157 N. Main St.

The event will run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Free medicine lock boxes will be distributed to the first 25 people who show up with medicine to drop off.

The program is part of the federal Drug Enforcement Agency's Take-Back Day and is sponsored by the DEA, Madison County leaders State's Attorney Tom Gibbons, Coroner Steve Nonn and Sheriff Bob Hertz.
