Granite City teens arrested after gun threats

Published: October 2, 2012

A pair of Granite City men have been charged with unlawful use of a weapon after a dispute in which they allegedly threatened to shoot several people after a rock-throwing incident.

According to Madison County Sheriff's Department Capt. Mike Dixon, a man reported to police at about 8:50 p.m. Sunday that members of a large group of people congregating on Garden Lane threw a rock that hit his car. When the man and his friends confronted the group about the damage, two of the people in the group threatened to shoot the man and his friends if they didn't go away.

Deputies went to the home at 4019 Garden Lane where the group was assembled and found a pair of unloaded pistols hidden on the property.

Ammollie J. Gale, 18 of Lake Drive, and Travon R. Jackson, 17 of 2505 Iowa Street, were arrested after deputies found evidence linking them to the guns, Dixon said.

Judge James Hackett set both defendants bond at $15,000.00.
