The Illinois Terrorism Task Force announced Wednesday that 41 local emergency management agencies will receive a total of $416,852 in grants to help them comply with federal communications requirements.
St. Clair County will receive a $65,423 grant, and Madison County will receive a $2,697 grant to purchase emergency radios.
The grants were recently awarded by the task force using federal money Illinois receives from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
The grants require a 50 percent local match because of federal grant rules.
