Education: Continuing education, including OSHA 30-hour safety training, 12-week foreman development course at SIUE, business courses at SWIC, training through the Laborers Union, and auto and diesel mechanics program at a technical school in St. Louis.
Previous offices: Township Trustee
Qualifications: I am a township trustee where I have been an independent voice, speaking out for more transparency in government and improved services to residents. I donate my summer months' trustee salary every year to a local school nutrition program. I am a working person and entrepreneur who understands the concerns of working families. I have been involved in my community as a member of the St. Clair County Historical Society and a volunteer at the Messenger Cemetery. I also am a donor and a sponsor of the Belleville Boxing Club, which works with local young people to keep them on a positive track in their life.
Top issues: I will be a independent voice on the county board, working for efficient services, low tax rates and transparency in government. I strongly support efforts to trim the county budget to reduce the burden on local property taxpayers. I want to build on the county's recent successes in attracting new businesses to our area utilizing our position as a transportation hub for the nation. St. Clair County is at the center of rail, river, highway and air transportation that makes us attractive for manufacturing and logistics companies. I also believe we are at a critical point at MidAmerica Airport where decisions will need to be made about its future and its viability based on whether the airport can successfully be transformed into a cargo hub.
