The following incidents were listed among the official reports of local law enforcement agencies and court clerks. Readers are reminded that an arrest or charge does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
BELLEVILLE POLICE
THURSDAY, OCT. 11
8:25 a.m. Theft -- 2800 block of West Main Street. The victim reported sometime during the overnight hours the rims and tires were taken off her vehicle.
2:25 p.m. Retail theft -- Walmart, 2601 Green Mount Commons. Store security observed Barneshio White, 19, and Deonte Hamilton, 19, conceal merchandise inside a back pack and exit the store without any attempt to pay for the items. They were stopped by security and held until officer arrival. White and Hamilton were arrested, transported and later released with a notice to appear.
4:26 p.m. Unlawful use of credit card -- Walmart, 2601 Green Mount Commons. The reporting party stated his mother/victim's credit card was stolen from her room while residing in a nursing home in Caseyville and was used at several businesses in Belleville.
5:56 p.m. Domestic battery -- 100 block of North Pennsylvania. A juvenile was arrested after repeatedly choking and striking his mother/victim during an argument. The suspect fled the scene but was picked up by officers a short distance away. The juvenile was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center pending further investigation.
9:05 p.m. Assault -- First block of Kircher Place. Terry Roy, 47, was arrested after he engaged in a verbal argument with his neighbor/victim in which he allegedly told the victim he was going to "shoot him in front of his son." Roy was transported and held pending bond.
10:44 p.m. Traffic stop, subject fleeing the stop -- Illinois 161 and Commercial Street. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a blue Chevy Blazer occupied by three male subjects, at which time one of the subjects fled the scene. The two other occupants of the vehicle were detained while officers searched for the third occupant. The third suspect was not located. The two occupants were later released.
FRIDAY, OCT. 12
12:38 a.m. Drunkenness, possession of a controlled substance -- Big Daddy's, 313 E. Main St. After creating a disturbance in the bar and being thrown out, two subjects were arrested for public drunkenness. Both subjects were transported to headquarters. Kellin Johns, 26, was issued a nontraffic citation and released with a notice to appear. The second subject was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. He was transported to the St. Clair County Jail and held pending further investigation.
2:26 a.m. Domestic battery -- Green Mount Road and Carlyle Avenue. The victim reported getting into an argument with her boyfriend/suspect in his vehicle after leaving Silver Creek Saloon. During that time the suspect allegedly elbowed her in the face, slammed her head against the window, and pushed her out of the vehicle at an intersection. The suspect then fled the scene in the vehicle.
3:30 a.m. Burglary -- Belleville Quick Shop, 7311 Old St. Louis Road. Officers responded to an alarm activated at the business. Upon arrival officer found the fornt glass doors shattered and property was stolen.
ST. CLAIR COUNTY FELONIES
SUNDAY, OCT. 14
Ricky W. Browning, 18, of 400 S. Illinois, Belleville, arrested on suspicion of burglary on Aug. 12 by Belleville police. Browning allegedly etered a building, a garage of Vincent Mudd, 531 S. Pennsylvania, Belleville, with the intent to commit theft.
Christopher M. Gonzalez, 25, of 4 Cedar Hill St., Belleville, arrested on suspicion of theft, subsequent offense on Oct. 11 by Fairview Heights police. Gonzalez allegedly took property from K-Mart, being a pair of boots, total value not in excess of $500.
Suavay L. Robinson, 24, of 208 St. Christopher St., Cahokia, arrested on suspicion of armed robbery on Oct. 10 by Cahokia police. Robinson allegedly while armed with a dangerous weapon, being a meat cleaver, knowingly took property, being U.S. currency, from Kathleen Jacobs, by threatening the imminent use of force.
Everett L. Tigue, 20, of 134 N. Virginia Ave., Belleville, arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon on Oct. 11 by Fairview Heights police. Tigue allegedly possessed about his person a firearm, a Smith & Wesson .9-mm pistol. The defendant had been previously convicted of burglary on June 22.
Jarvis E. Wilson, 27, of 3717 Lynntown Drive, St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of cannabis on Oct. 12 by East St. Louis police. Wilson allegedly had in his possession less than 15 grams of a substance containing cocaine and more than 2.5 but less than 10 grams of a substance containing cannabis.
Amy L. Bellm, 51, of 8787 Sasak Place, Room 220, Caseyville, arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance on Oct. 10 by St. Clair County sheriff. Bellm allegedly had in her possession less than 15 grams of a substance containing heroin.
Christine K. Engleman, 39, of 4279 N. Shore Drive, Hillsboro, Mo., arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery to a police officer on Oct. 12 by Sauget police. Engleman allegedly caused bodily harm to Scott Hedgpeth, in that she bit Scott Hedgpeth on the finger, knowing him to be a peace officer engaged in the performance of his authorized duties.
Raymond J. Gossett Jr., 53, of 2 N. Main St., Lenzburg, arrested on suspicion of predatory two counts of criminal sexual assault on Oct. 8 by Lenzburg police. Gossett allegedly committed sexual acts with a female minor, date of birth Nov. 15, 2006.
Michael Magac, 45, of 616 St. Mary Drive, Belleville, arrested on suspicion of domestic battery, subsequent offense on Oct. 8 by Belleville police. Magac allegedly made physical contact with Michelle Magac, a household/family member, by throwing a hair brush at her and striking her in the head. Defendant had been previously convicted of aggravated battery on Jan. 13, 2005.
