The body of a 54-year-old man from rural Sesser was pulled from Rend Lake Monday night, according to Franklin County Sheriff's Department.
Sheriff Don Jones said the man has been identified as Alan L. Saiz. He was found in the Gun Creek area of Rend Lake in Ina. No foul play is suspected in Saiz' death.
"There was no indication of trauma to the body," Jones said.
The sheriff's department received a report of a man falling out of a boat on Rend Lake at 5:20 p.m. Sunday.
Jones explained a female companion Saiz was boating with said he stood up for unknown reasons and fell into the lake.
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the Army Corps of Engineers and the Franklin County Sheriff's Department began a recovery operation immediately following the initial report Sunday night.
Saiz' body was not located until 7:20 p.m. Monday, according to Jones.
An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday by the Franklin County Coroner's Office.
