Belleville blotter: Unconscious man found lying in roadway

Published: October 24, 2012

The following report appeared in the most recently released crime blotter by the Belleville Police Department:

TUESDAY

6:55 a.m. VIOLATION OF OCCUPANCY - First block of Christopher Drive. Officers responded to the area of N. Belt West near Yale Law Enforcement office building for a report of a subject lying in the roadway. Officers located Mckenly Falconer, 26, in a parking lot. He appeared to be unconscious. Falconer stated he lived on Christopher Drive with his girlfriend. Officers checked the occupancy permit, noting he was not listed as an occupant. Falconer and Christina Ward, 25, were both issued citations for violating occupancy laws.

10:45 p.m. TRAFFIC ACCIDENT-AGGRAVATED D.U.I./AGGRAVATED-ARREST. The suspect, a 32-year-old male, was arrested, after being released from the hospital, at his residence. The suspect was arrested for aggravated driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident and aggravated battery to a hospital employee. The suspect was transported to headquarters and held pending charges.

Readers are reminded that an arrest or charge does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. For more police blotter news, read tomorrow's print edition of the Belleville News-Democrat and return to bnd.com.
