New Athens High School was locked down by police Wednesday as officers searched the building for drugs.
Police confirmed the search but would offer no details about what they were looking for or what inspired the raid.
According to television news reports, students said officers found illegally possessed prescription pills and marijuana. At least two students were reported to have been arrested.
