Collinsville men charged after throwing beer bottles, attacking man

Three Collinsville men were charged with mob action Friday in connection with an attack on a man who told police the suspects threw beer bottles at a car on his driveway Thursday night in Fairview Heights.

The following individuals were charged with mob action: Alfredo Rios-Salto, 20, Dustin J. Brown, 21, and Rafael Ochoa, 17, all of Collinsville.

According to Fairview Heights police, at approximately 11:05 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to the 9300 block of Bunkum Road in response to a report of a fight in progress.

After responding officers arrived, the victim reported the suspects had already fled the area but was able to give a description of the vehicle and occupants.

The victim explained that three subjects were breaking windows by throwing beer bottles at a car parked in his driveway. He exited his home to investigate when he was attacked by the suspects.

After the victim fought off the attackers, the suspects departed the scene. Officers located the vehicle as it was leaving the scene and all four occupants of the vehicle were arrested.

Police are still trying to determine a motive for the damage to property or the battery of the victim, who refused medical treatment.
