Dupo's season ends with loss to Maroa-Forsyth

— The Maroa-Forstyh Trojans rolled out to a 41-0 lead in the first half as they beat the Dupo Tigers 54-6 Saturday in a Class 1A playoff game.

Trojans quarterback Jack Hockaday threw three touchdown passes and ran for another touchdown.

The Tigers, who ended their season at 6-4, got their lone score on a 3-yard touchdown run by Tyler Barnes in the fourth quarter.

The Trojans, who won the state championship in Class 2A in 2006 and placed second in Class 2A in 2009 and 2010, improved to 9-1.

They'll play Villa Grove (8-1) next week in the second round of the playoffs.

Hockaday had a 10-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to put the Trojans up 7-0.

Justin Mikeworth added a 13-yard touchdown in the first quarter for the Trojans.

Hockaday threw all of his touchdown passs during a 28-point, second-quarter explosion. He had a 7-yard touchdown toss to Claton Zilz along with touchdown passes of 8 and 7 yards to Alec Martin.
